Etsy Shop, Digital Backdrops

https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/AuraDigitalBackdrops?ref=hdr_shop_menu

So digital backgrounds seem to be becoming quite a big thing in the photography world. I have a studio and figured that whilst it isn’t being used for paying shoots I could create some digital backdrops of my own. Both, to use for myself and to sell. I have, over the past five years amassed a collection of backdrops and props. So I have created an etsy site. I only have one backdrop in the shop at the moment! but throughout the coming weeks I am planning to keep adding more and more.

Above is the digital backdrop. An oval basket on a wooden floor with wallpaper backdrop. Below is the image with a baby added. This is really useful, particularly if baby is fussy and doesn’t want to be moved very much. Then, if the parents have their hearts set on a particular set up, we can still achieve it.  Victoria x

Outdoor Photo Shoot in Mells

So I’ve had quite an eclectic week of shoots – i’ve had family shoots, including another 11 people in for a group family shoot. A newborn shoot, photographing a beautiful fabric artwork before it goes off to exhibition and outdoor shoots on Saturday. This is one from Saturday afternoon, I love this because the kids have so much freedom! and I love this family! Apart from the oldest Jonah, I’ve photographed each and every one as babies, over the last 5 years (including baby Chloe who isn’t in shot because she is now walking yet).cullens seewooruttunssn’t walking yet) x

Bluebells

So, I love photography, my hobby is taking photographs of landscapes, and my holidays are spent photographing, and my job is photographing babies and families. It’s my passion but also when things are stressful or difficult my camera is what I reach for. I wanted to go out and take some pictures of bluebells and I finally did on Monday night. The sun although out for the whole journey to the location decided to go in as soon as we arrived! So I had to wait for it to peek out behind the clouds. It finally did and I had a few moments to capture these under the trees. It was a lovely evening, even if some cows decided to move us on when we went into another field, (we took the hint and left the field). So it was fleeting and the wind was blowing quite fiercely, but I got some pictures of bluebells in 2016!BLUEBELLS

Keepsake Prints

Introducing a new product! I wanted to offer a product that would be something you could physically show… I know its lovely to show the baby pictures from phones or ipads, but I wanted something archival that you could actually hold, and would last years and years. So I came up with this, its a 4″ x 4″ inch box which contains your eight favourite prints from your photo shoot. It would make a nice present for grandparents or for parents to keep and you could carry it around in a handbag. I will be selling it for £30. But for the next month they are on offer for £25. If any clients are interested, past and present just let me know xkeepsake box

8 month old Baby Shoot

This is lovely Texa’s third shoot with me. Her first was as a newborn, her second at 4 months old and her third at 8 months old is her sitting shoot. She wasn’t sure of the camera initially, but when her sister started joining in she was fine. We got some great pictures, mainly sitting, some of her trying to crawl and playing with her teddies,  it was a lovely shoot. I really enjoy the 6 month – 8 month shoots as you can generally keep them in one place!

Outdoor Photo Shoots…

I started outdoor shoots last year, and I really enjoyed them. They are different, they are scary in that everything changes constantly… the light, the scenery, the kids run faster than me! But in saying all that I love the freedom, both for the children and for me. In the studio I’m creating the images from scratch mainly. Outdoors a lot of my creativity is inspired by what I see, the beautiful tree that makes the most amazing backdrop, the beautiful flowers or leaves all over the ground. I’ve been trying to think of places to go today and I’m looking forward to what this year will break. But, in the meantime, I just wish it would warm up, I’m not good in the cold x

Newborn Photo Shoot with big sister

I’ve photographed Phoenix since a newborn and it was lovely that Zoe & Luke came back with their second daughter Texa. Phoenix is such a lovely big sister and couldn’t wait to give her a cuddle! & Texa was very chilled out. It really was a lovely relaxing session! x

Toddler Photo Shoot..

Aww Millie, I’ve photographed her since a newborn and this was her last baby shoot. It makes me sad when they finish, because it’s amazing seeing this little bundle of joy bought in and then by the end of the three shoots they are a little person! I photographed another newborn today and I’ll be on the same journey with this little one, which is pretty special x

19th of August… Outdoor Shoots

In the last couple of years I have been asked (a lot) if I do outdoor shoots. My answer has always been no, my studio was really busy and there really wasn’t time & I didn’t like the idea of photographing outside with changing light, unpredictable weather, the list goes on. Then i started to really notice this trend toward outdoor shoots wasn’t going away, in fact it was getting more popular. So I started to practice with my family. My poor nieces and nephews must groan when I get my camera out, but they let me carry on anyway. It turns out that I’m actually really enjoying these outdoor shoots, there is more freedom for the children, which is what they want, and its easier for me to capture those natural pictures, which is always my favourite part. So, I think it will be added to my price list and I’m excited about the new challenges outdoor shoots will bring.
